Hi. A tiny amount of garlic won't do any harm. I think it was probably a) too much food all at once; and b) a new food introduced. The best way of doing this with green tripe is to offer tiny portions throughout the day, maybe every 3 or 4 hours, that collectively make one usual meal volume. This helps save the kidneys from doing a huge amount of work or being stressed from trying, all at once. Frozen green tripe is better, as it usually has nothing added - but not everyone can find it in the US. It's usually stored in freezer compartments in some better pet stores. You might try adding some cooked potato or boiled white rice to the green tripe, which will help give him a nutrition boost.
I'm fairly convinced the Enalapril caused the blood levels to go up. This is basically the problem ... treating illnesses that are at odds with one another. This drug, like all drugs, will put additional stress on the kidneys, as they need to deal with the toxins and by-products produced by metabolising the medication. Of course, without the medication, the heart and circulatory problem will get worse.

I fed Pepsi one tablespoon of the canned green tripe last night. I rinsed it first and warmed it up in micro. He gobbled it up but a few hours later he threw up and had diarrhea. Don't know if it was the tripe since he had also eaten his regular meal. I don't think I will continue with the tripe. Glad others have had success with it.
