Hi all,
I'm a 29 year old man. I'm in a good health. I work out, I eat well, I sleep OK. But since I've been 23, I've been experiencing a lot of random recurrent fever-like episodes. Kinda like the beginning of a cold, without developping into an acutal cold or flu although, sometime it does.
The thermometer says my body temp is fine, but I still feel uncomfortable, sometimes with a sore throat, joint pain, I am a bit dizzy and acetominophen and/or ibupophen only seem to have a placebo effect.
The odd thing is that these uncomfotable feelings are on and off. I usually feel good for the first hour after I've woken up. Then it starts hurting again. It completly disappears around noon and then, starts again right after I ate.
It will disappear in the afternoon and come back in full force as the sun goes down and my body temp rises slightly. Sometimes I actually throw up because I feel so off.
I always assumed I just caught garden variety cold viruses, but why don't I get any other symptoms (runny nose, cough, etc...) and why isn't my body temp high for real?
I've looked up every possible disease...I even thought I had HIV at one point. This causes a lot of anxiety. After a month of feeling fine, I just dread the next episode which I just know will hit me at some point.
I've talked to it about doctor. I was having routine blood tests done one day and I was in luck because I was having my symptoms again. I thought she could answer me but all she said is that I had signs of inflammation but that's it.
Last year I had a mononucleosis (tested + twice). It lasted for a good 3-4 months. I was happy because the 'episodes' didn't come back for like 2-3 months but for the last two days, I've been feeling terrible again.
I have no idea where to begin with these completly non-specific symptoms. Is this common? If anyone is experiencing random cold-like symptoms like these...please please tell me if there is a solution. I am sore tired of being sick that sometimes I get suicidal.
