I wouldn't be surprised if the amount women fighting abortions amongst the politicals were in the dozens at least.... "do as I say" mentality.
I am not particularly in favor of abortion at any stage, but until there is a happy, healthy, loving home for each unwanted pregnancy, I will continue to stand with a woman's right to choose.
A right it is not, it is a law but it is not a "right". But you do know that Wendy is not against the 20 week abortion law correct?
I think Christie was someone a lot of us thought we could get behind. I keep hoping that a politician will show up that has integrity and character... this country really needs that.
As far as Perry, I completely agree with everything you said.
Neither do I have any great love for Wendy Davis, from what I've seen of her, but you're right; she's the only sticking up women's rights. Until abortion becomes illegal, it's a right.
I wonder how many of the self-righteous politicians (female) or wives/mistresses of the male politicians, fighting against abortion, have actually had one.
"Abortion is not about rights."
No, it's about the dismal, third-rate job we do of educating our children about Family Planning, responsibility, and birth control. Until we do a better job on these, I feel it's about rights by default. I think the anti-abortion lobby could reduce abortions enormously by separating these issues away from the abortion issue. But I don't think the movers and shakers behind this lobby care as much about saving lives as they do about using this to make hay politically.
Think you need to learn more about Wendy Davis. Abortion is not about rights.
Barb, I too would have liked to have voted for Christie. It made my disappointment that much more bitter when all the evidence that emerges seems to show that 'plain-spoken, no-nonsense, get-things-done guy' equates to 'bully'. Maybe I'm simply naïve to think there is such a thing as character in a politician.
As for Perry, I think he is the slimiest thing that's ever crawled out from under a rock. From his faux Ronald Reagan hair to the racist slogans painted outside the entrance to his ranch, he's never been anything but 'for sale to the highest bidder'. It would have been a huge advantage to the DNC for Perry to have gotten the 2016 nomination. Way too easy a target.
I hope Greg Abbott rides his coat tails clear to the bottom. No huge love for Wendy Davis, but she's the only candidate in that race standing up for my daughters' rights.
I am sure the Christie and Perry issue is much more serious than the IRS or Benghazi. Right?
Thanks.. not sure what's going on here, the past couple days, but I sure seem to be on the pointed end of someone's stick!!
You have a life dear. No need to be made to feel bad for something like that!
These days it is work finding anyone to trust and want to support. Hoping that improves but am waiting . . . waiting . . . waiting . . .
I clearly said that I'd thought all the investigations were done, including the outside ones and I readily admitted that I'd been mistaken. So crucify me; I haven't seen all the latest news.. sorry.
I like the comment "we sure can pick 'em".
Man, it's a sad time in politics!
The fact that you thought Christy had been exonerated is disturbing. It was his hand picked investigators who exonerated him. Not exactly a clean bill of health by any stretch of the imagination .
Your shocked face looks like you have only one "ear".... lol
I, truly, thought I'd read that those investigations had all been done and Christie had been exonerated. I guess, by your shocked face, that's not the case. LOL
I'd kind of hoped that Christie might be "middle of the road" kind of guy who might be able to pull the country back together, but that's iffy, at best. :-(
You are correct. In a report ordered by Christie, paid for by the taxpayers, and done by Christies lawyers. And they didnt talk to anyone from the port authority nor any of the witnesses that they dissed in the report. But yes, you are correct, that was their conclusion. See my shocked face :O
There are other investigations ongoing, that will speak to the port authority and the witnesses, but will not give any inclinations about their report until it is finished.
So the verdict is still out I would say.
"......next to Chris Christie."
If guilty.
Don't wanna prejudge."
Don't want to hijack the thread, but have you heard something new? Last I heard, it had been determined that he knew nothing about/had nothing to do with the lane closures.
"......next to Chris Christie."
If guilty.
Don't wanna prejudge.
If true, he should have a cell next to Chris Christie.
Run Sarah run.
Not the 1st or the last. If true he should resign.
