Whats 'going on?!

Heya, I was recently told by people on medhelp that the only way to recover from a chemical imbalance linked to anxiety/depression is with medication. I asked my psychiatrist and doctor this and both said anyone is capable of recovering without medication as it is not a physical issue that is causing it, rather the way you think and the things you do. Has anyone got any additional information on the issue? Thanks :)

Here's a simple and very effective solution for conquering anxiety and depression... In order to restore your chemical balance naturally and effectively, you need to have sufficent amounts of neurotransmitters in your brain. THIS IS WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR. This deficiency is what causes depression and fatigue, as well as many other health problems. These neurotransmitters are depleted by a poor diet, caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol. Even healthy food doesn't have sufficient amounts of amino acids and proteins we need for replenishing our brain's food, also know as neurotransmitters. These are restored by taking supplements which are precursors to other neurotransmitters. For example, each morning, I take L-Carnitine (500 MG), D-Ribose (1500 MG), Creatine (800 MG), CoQ10 (100 MG), and Alpha Lipoic Acid (100MG) every day, and I feel great! (Understatement) My energy level is way up, my concentration and focus is way up, my mood is very elevated and I feel peaceful, relaxed, and happy! And this feeling is consistent every day, it doesn't fluxuate up and down. After working 10 hours on my computer every day, I still have 100% focus, concentraion, and energy! I'm serious! Now I sleep 8 hours every night, like a baby! But I don't eat fast food, I eat eggs, oatmeal, salads with olive oil and spinach leaves (not iceburg lettuce), chicken breasts, fish, etc. I've also ordered some Choline/Inositol (250 MG / 250MG) which is supposed to help, and I am going to order some Vinpocetine, which is also supposed to be amazing. Google all of these supplements, and you will discover more that are good for your specific needs. YouTube has some great videos on the subject, as well. (Your doctor doesn't want you to know about this stuff because it makes it difficult for him to make payments on his Mercedes.) My entire family has been taking these supplements with me. We don't argue with each other anymore, we are all so calm, happy, and relaxed! The pain in my 70 year old mother's legs is 80% GONE, and now she GOES ALL DAY without taking her ususal 3 to 5 naps throughout the day. I've been taking vitamins and minerals and eating well (which is vital), but nothing helped me nearly as much as the neurotransmitters I listed above. Get obsessed with it. Google it for the next three days straight until you are an expert in Neurotransmitter Precursor Therapy, and you will never be sick or unhealthy again, especially if you start taking L-Theanine/SunTheanine. You're welcome ; )

You can restore your chemical balance with these breathing techniques. The brain will calm down with the extra oxygen getting into the body. You will notice the difference in weeks.Start with anulom vilom first and then do all the pranayam. Let me know when you notice the benefit.
Build up your timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume after one minute.
Kapalbhati pranayam -(Do it before eating) Push air forcefully out through the nose about once per second. Stomach will itself go in(contract in). The breathing in(through the nose) will happen automatically. Establish a rhythm and do for 20 to 30 minutes twice a day. Children under 15 years – do 5 to 10 minutes twice a day.
Not for pregnant women. Seriously ill people do it gently.
Anulom Vilom pranayam –
Close your right nostril with thumb and deep breath-in through left nostril
then – close left nostril with two fingers and breath-out through right nostril
then -keeping the left nostril closed  deep breath-in through right nostril
then - close your right nostril with thumb and breath-out through left nostril.
This is one cycle of anulom vilom.
Repeat this cycle for 15 to 30  minutes twice a day.
Children under 15 years – do 5 to 10 minutes twice a day.
You can do this before breakfast/lunch/dinner or before bedtime or in bed.Remember to take deep long breaths into the lungs. You can do this while sitting on floor or chair or lying in bed.

Bhramri Pranayam -Close eyes. Close ears with thumb, index finger on forehead, and rest three fingers on base of nose touching eyes. Breathe in through nose. And now breathe out through nose while humming like a bee.
Duration : 5 to 21  times.

Yeah maybe that might be true, I have borderline personality disorder and my brain is totally different. So I've went through my share of anxiety and depression and most of the time your going to need a medication because it can get really really really scary bad. At least mine did. But if you know how to deal with it and what triggers it and how to stay calm it may be able to be taken care of naturally. But yes if you struggle to the point where you are suicidal i would say take medication. And go to therapy.

I do agree that chemical imbalance is the result of depression/anxiety but i do think that anyone is capable of recovering by doing the right things and thinking positively, and that medication is there if you are struggling?!

I was told by a psychiatrist just this week that there is such a thing as a "chemical imbalance" that causes depression.  There is a lot of controversy about this and doctors do disagree.  If all the therapy in the world doesn't help and your therapist says you're fine.....what is left?  If you've exhausted everything and are still depressed.....what is the reason?  If you google this you will find many arguments for and against this theory and then you can determine how you feel about it. I hope this helps.

True i think that both therapy, new coping skills, loving yourself, medication, talking about things, and learning to control your emotions, Helps A lot. ! But i do believe that anyone is capable. Maybe some are more fortunate than others but all everyone can do is try. right. <3
