Burning lips?

For about 3 months now i have had a burning sensation around the mouth.I have used several types of lip balm/moisturizer but it doesn't help, actually it seem to  make it worse.I have suffered from dry lips before but usually after a few days of using a lip balm everything feels fine.Could this be some sort of fungas or bacterial infection? There are no bumps or blisters and the area looks normal.I am just feeling a constant burning. Thanks for any info.

Have tryed b complex and doesn't seem to be helping. The pain seems to be more pronounced at times.I also seems to be seeping in the corners of my lips and along the lip lines.Another symptom is that i am itching....scalp and around the groin area especially.I was just wondering if this could be something contagesious.I have been to a doctor once about it and have tested for std's and nothing. But i am still thinking it is something i caught...a fungus or a bacterial infection?..lice/mites?Impetego?Any ideas?I am going to see a doctor again...are there any specific tests i should ask for?Any treaments you think i should be trying on my own? Thanks

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
There are several possibilities that are coming in my mind.

Firstly,It can be due to vit B deficiency.Take some vitamin B complex for some days and see if your symptoms improve.
Secondly,it can be due to atopic dermatitis or eczema. Cheilitis(Inflammation of the skin on and around the lips)is often seen in atopic dermatitis.Diagnosed by bld test like RAST.Treatment is by topical steroids or oral therapy of corticosteroids in severe cases.Topical creams like tacrolimus ointment (Protopic) and pimecrolimus cream (Elidel) are also useful.

Third possibility is of perioral dermatitis.
Pls consult a dermatologist and discuss these possibilities.Till then keep your skin and lips moisturized and take adequate fluids throughout the day.

Hope it helps.Kind regards.
