Dr. Santos,
The redness is just localized to the one area. There are no pimples, red lines, or eye irritation. The medicine she gave me has done nothing.
Thank you for your reply. I will take your advice and seek another opinion.
Hi,
Rosacea usually presents with redness on the cheeks which can be triggered with sun exposure or alcohol. This stimulates increased blood flow, which causes blood vessels to expand and facial redness to appear. In women, the redness usually appears on the cheeks, nose, chin, and forehead. Are there other signs or symptoms present? Pimples, red lines on the face, or eye irritation may also occur. Does the medication help relieve the symptoms? If not, you may have this evaluated further for proper management.
The red pimple-like lesions may be due to inflammation of our hair follicles or folliculitis.Warm compress may help relieve symptoms but this usually resolve on its own.
Take care and regards.
