Intense itching with no visible signs of rash

Hey there; I am new to medhelp and I need help. For the past 2 1/2 months I have been getting this intense chronic itching. It's gotten to the point where I can not be around people because I will itch and won't be able to resist scratching intensely. I have no visible signs rashes or welts appear when the itching occurs. I have noticed that skin now has quite a lot of little red/brownish dots on them some are slightly raised some aren't. The itching happens every day and almost in an exact time period that I can even now predict when the itch will occur. It happens every day usually in the afternoon and definitely in the evening. I can not work out for long periods of time due to the itching which is a problem for me since I am type 2 diabetic and exercise is crucial to maintain a healthy blood sugar level. This has also became a problem in my school as well since I will itch when in class and have to leave. The area of itching is always my entire back, chest and shoulder areas, thighs going down to knees, buttocks, neck and even hands. I've tried lotions, moisturizers, taking less showers, taking showers in cold water. I haven't changed detergent or the soap I've been using. If it helps, sometimes when the itching occurs and i look at the hair on my arms I can see small white dots.

Cool, glad you got it taken care of. What did the doctor say, did he/she confirm scabies?

Hey there, thanks for the reply. I do not believe this to be caused by an irritant like pollen. I think I may have actually found what is causing this itching. I think i have some how contracted scabies. Through online searching I have found that scabies causes severe itching usually in the evening and night time hours. They also cause raised red bumps called scabies nodules. I will be going to a physician to get treatment today thanks for your input.

Hi there, I have had something very similar. My right hand became very itchy once with no signs of a rash. It was very weird. The itch went away, but I too have developed a small raised wart sorta thing in the middle of where the itch was. It was very weird, lasted maybe two hours and I am certain I didn't have this little wart thing prior. Also there are little brown spots that are not raised in the area now as well. My thoughts are a weird type of wart virus that my system reacted to very quickly or a reaction to a plant. When it happened I was in a place of intense shrubbery. Have you moved to a new area? Perhaps you are having a reaction to something near you, this would explain why you can time the itch cause your patterns of movement would certainly be duplicated day by day, especially as a student and you could be near the irritant at the time of itch. Try changing your routes to class or where you sit, maybe it will help. Unless the irritant is near your home or there is no irritant. However, wouldn't hurt to try. Let me know what you find out. We have some similarities. I'll share what I find out too. Good luck!
