Rash On Fingers

Hello,

Over the last two years, I have developed some form of rash on my hands.  These rash start as painful redness on my hands.  Typically within a few days, they have tiny red dots in them, which are painful to the touch.  Eventually, they turn a brown or rusty-red color, and the skin above them dies and flakes away.  When this happens, you can actually separate the coagulated blood off the dead skin flakes.

I have been to the doctors, and he told me close to two years ago, that it would go away on its own, and may be a type of eczema.  I'm asking for help, because frankly; its painful in an irritating way, but its also rather embarrassing.  It looks disgusting, and definitely has impacted my self-esteem.

I've attached pictures so that you can see.  Does anyone else have this?  Is it curable?  If not, are there ways to reduce the symptoms?

Thank you all for your time.

Jack

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
It can be due to dyshidrotic eczema or pompholyx. It is characterized by a sudden onset of many deep-seated pruritic, clear vesicles which itch and then peel off. As a result the skin may also fissure.
Dyshidrotic is a form of dermatitis skin that is seen in patients with Atopic Dermatitis, contact with a chemical substance like nickel, or cobalt, too much emotional trauma, or stress or even when there are extreme weather and temperature changes. Smoking and excessive coffee consumption are believed to play an aggravating role.

I suggest you to get an examination done from a dermatologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

have you been tested for psoriasis? ask your dr next time you see them in the meantime you could try an oatmeal bath. it helps break down the dead flaky skin! best of luck.
