Red Bumps that I've had for Years

What are/how can I treat these red bumps on my chest, buttocks, and back that have not gone away for years? It started with a few on my chest but have increased through the last 4 years (I'm not exactly sure when it started but it has been at least 3 years since). My doctor won't tell me anything about it and doesn't seem to care, but it has been really embarrassing for years. I can't wear lots of shirts because they always show and they only seem to get worse the longer I've had them. I don't know what to do and they have really hurt my self esteem. They can be itchy sometimes and painful, but most of the time they do not bother me at all. Should I go to a dermatologist? Attached is a picture of the bumps on my chest.

Hello,
It can be due to some benign skin growths because it has persisted for so long, allergic reaction or pityriasis rosea. Pityriasis rosea is a common human skin disease which presents as numerous patches of pink or red oval rash. The rash may be accompanied by low-grade headache, fever, nausea and fatigue and sometimes by itching.

No treatment is usually required. In most patients, the condition lasts only a matter of weeks or months(upto six months)
I suggest you to get the diagnosis confirmed from a dermatologist. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
