Thanks for the response....
Hello,
If there is any peeling of skin after using Lotrisone cream, then it can be due to an adverse effect to the cream or you are using too much of it.Apply the cream sparingly and if the symptoms persist then pls consult your dermatologist to change the prescription to some other antifungal topical cream.Selsun and Selsun blue are very effective in treating pityriasis versicolor and you can talk to your doctor regarding these.
I hope it helps. Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
It's me again, the doctor gave me Lotrisone cream and Sastid soap along with oral tablets. I have finished the tablets but the cream he said i should use it for four weeks, however now i see like my skin is stripping, is this normal with using this cream, should i report this to the doctor? Thanks again for your reply!
I visited the doctor and that's excatly what i have... It's called PITYRIASIS VERSICOLOR - TINEA VERSICOLOR - LIVER SPOTS.. He gave me treatment as he said that because i was being treated for excema it had spread so i have it all over, plus i live in Jamaica so the climate also helps it to spread.... I want to thank you because if it wasn't for u i wouldn;t have ever thought about liver spots as an option... Taking treatment so i will keep u posted on how it works out... Thanks again
Thanks for the reply. I will bring this to my doctors attention. One question still, The parts around my mouth, my eyebrow and the inner part of my wrist are the parts that are lighter, would tinea versicolor cause it to be this way?
Hello,
Without examination, confirmation of a diagnosis is tough, but it can be due to hyperpigmentation of the skin. This darkening occurs when an excess of melanin, the brown pigment that produces normal skin color, forms deposits in the skin. It can also be due to tinea versicolor. Tinea versicolor is caused by a fungus that lives in the skin of almost all adults. Factors that can cause the fungus to become more visible include high humidity and immune or hormone abnormalities.Treatment involves topical and oral antifungal medicines.
I sincerely advise you to consult a dermatologist and discuss these possibilities with him.
Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.Warm regards.
