What did I get into?

On my left hand.  Clusters of tiny blister like bumps that spread in a circular fashion on the outside of my palm. Directly down from the pinky finger. They were clear at first but the older circle patch is a light brown color.  When new ones form around it they are clear looking.  Patch is about 1/2 inch wide and tall right now.  But new ones appear. No itching and no redness. Have other little "blister" like spots on hand but not as large of patch.  The "blisters" themselves are small and flat.  Couple of the clear bumps on right hand, too.

Same hand but on side of thumb by my nail.  Freckle like spots that turned the skin yellow and puffy then sheds off-spreading.  The dead skin just stays on top. Just thought I got into something, but it won't go away.  No itching and the area around this patch is a little red.  A spot has cracked open and bled a tiny bit, but is trying to heal now. This one came first, then the blister like patches about two weeks later.

I have had this since last month and tried a steroid cream.  The cream took care of the dead/flaked skin as long as it was on there, but that's it.

I have looked at dozen of pictures from scabies to poison ivy to psoriasis to eczema and none seem to look like what's on my hand. None of these itch-just looks gross.

Doctors appointment is tomorrow.

You nailed it!  The dermatologist took one look at my hands and sent in a prescription for the dyshidrotic eczema.

She said use the cream for 2 - 3 weeks.   (can't remember the name and the prescription will be ready today)

Thank you so much!

I was using a prescription steroid cream that didn't stop the spreading.

I also went into the doctor and he said, "I don't know what that is."

Headed to the dermatologist next Wednesday and was told to stop the steroid cream in case it masks anything the dermatologist needs to see.

Thank you for the reply! I will be reading more about that condition and see if it fits!  It looks so gross.  Weird that it doesn't itch.  Only the new skin is tender and sore.  Which is being "eaten" away too.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
These symptoms can be due to pompholyx. Pompholyx is also called dyshidrotic eczema. It is characterized by a sudden onset of many deep-seated pruritic, clear vesicles which itch and then peel off. As a result the skin may also fissure.

For mild-moderate symptoms a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone as dermacort), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide). But they are available under prescription and should be taken only after consulting a dermatologist. Symptoms  can be exacerbated by dryness of the skin. Use good quality moisturizers to prevent moisture loss from the skin.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
