Yeah, in general I find when I drink I itch a lot during the night (when the alchohol is wearing off) and have redness and dry skin for a few days. It gets better as the days go on so yeah, it's obviously a big factor.
Thanks for your reply Bhupinder Kaur, i'll see how things go and make sure not to use any new soaps etc!

Hello,
From the symptoms that you have mentioned, one possibility that can correlate with your symptoms and history is eczema skin. Usually the symptoms are dry, itchy skin but sometimes, eczema may lead to blisters and oozing lesions also. Eczema is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema. Allergic reaction can occur to strong soaps, Solvents, chemicals, certain foods, food additives, plants, metals, cosmetics, even urine and faeces of some animals (dust mites).
It can be due to allergy to the contents of alcohol or wine that may be causing the flare up of eczema. . Diagnosis of skin allergies includes Skin ***** tests (pricking the skin with a needle or pin containing a small amount of the allergen ('***** Testing' or 'Scratch Testing'), Patch tests (by applying a patch to the skin, where the patch contains the allergen.)And RAST.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
