I am in my 30's. I have been using a good but same brand of lipstick for the past 15 years on a regular basis.
The color of my lips was red now few spots I have a light pink color on my lips. I have stopped using lipsticks infact I am applying oil on that area to avoid dryness. Please advise me how to go about it as I am paniking now because of this discoloration. please advise.............

Hi,

What is the color of the discolorations. You have mentioned  these are red spots (is this correct?)

This may be a skin reaction to the lipstick or it could be a reaction to some unknown trigger. When have you noted this change?

Are the spots itchy and flaking?

Are your lips always dry or is this dryness more recent in onset?

A differential will be an allergic dermatitis or a contact dermatitis. Contact dermatitis may cause rednesss, scaling and itchiness over the area. This may be similar to an irritant dermatitis wherein dryness is evident. This skin condition is associated with dryness and redness and may need to be assessed by a dermatologist just to rule out an underlying infection.
