itchy arms = BRACHIORADIAL PRURITUS

all itchy arm sufferers....please look into brachioradial pruritus.  My arms, and only my arms, have itched for 10 years.  no rashes, no psiorias, excema etc.  The creams, allergery pills..my list is extensive as to what I have tried but nothing worked. ---------------The only thing that helps are ice packs. -----------------------
Recently,I had an x-ray to check if I had any nerve impingement in my cervical spine - one of the possible causes but nothing showed so I continue to search for answers.  I did get confirmation of the brachioradial pruritus from a great dermatologist who has only seen 3 cases in his 15 years on the job.  He did a biopsy that he sent to UC Davis for confirmation.  The diagnosis was actually a relief as I have been told that it is so many other things.
I hope this helps.  I will keep posting if I find anything helpful solutions.

Just came back from seeing my orthopedic doctor to read my MRI results.  Since last year, the C-5/C-6 area in my neck has continued to narrow and dry out (so to speak). It is also similar happenings in C-6/C-7. This is just further confirmation that the "itching" is partially caused by this and instead of feeling harsher pain, I'm feeling it is the itch.  He suggested some pain management injections for now, but eventually discussed surgery to replace what should be in the discs.   But that is not until I am truly in severe pain, so hoping that doesn't become necessary for a long time!!! Until then, I will learn to deal...

My left itchy arm started around Xmas this year, it's 4am now, I can't sleep!!
Does anyone has numb and tingly feeling on the hand too, my left pinky, wedding finger and that side of hand are so numb like I've been resting on it for a long time when I'm not using it at all.

Just wanted to comment that I went for a massage yesterday and she really worked on my neck and back...felt pretty good afterwards; however, last night , going to bed, the itch was SO bad...OMG....I almost went for the ice but took a big Xanax instead...knocked me out...unbearable...mine was between left arm shoulder and elbow...always changes location....wanted to cut off my arm...gonna see chiropractor Friday....maybe massages do NOT help?  I love them so......

So very nice to hear from you, as always!! I'm also very happy to hear that you are not itching!!! Yay for you!!! I hope it stays that way forever from here on out!

I have to thank you, once again, for your kind words =) Sometimes I feel like I shouldn't share so much with everyone because I might come across as a know-it-all...especially when many people don't seem interested in reading previous posts and researching. Your words have brought a smile to my face and to my heart =) Thank you!

Your posts are always so informative and all inclusive....you state things so clearly that many will benefit! Well said, as always!!

I hope everyone here has been enjoying their holidays and will continue to do so and wish for ITCH FREE 2012 for all!!!

Peace and blessings,
Dove

Holy crap,.. its xmas day 2011 and instead of feasting im researching why for the past 5 years every summer i get the most unbelievable relentless itch ever, i'm 37 years old, .. it never goes higher than my elbows and never lower than my wrists, .. the visual aspect of them are small blister type lesions but generally just look like small cuts as i tear them apart in my scratching frenzy, i live in queensland Australia where the climate is tropical and i am a landscaper so im in the sun everyday, .. i wish this upon no-one yet i am happy to see a forum as it offers me hope, i shall read through for remedies but for anyone who has experianced these type symptoms, and have conquered then please throw a dog a bone, .. starting to think i were going loco...
