itchy groin

I asked this question to Dr Handsfield and he said it almost certainly wasn't an STD.  Over the past month I have had persistent itching on both of my inner thighs and all around the groin area.  Within the last week or so while this was going on I noticed what appeared to be dry itchy spots on my penis.  I scratched at three of these spots and they turned into hard red bumps, when squeezed a tiny amount of clear fluid with traces of blood came out.  I also have a few of these bumps in my pubic hair area and on the side of my testicles. They don't appear to be herpes blisters (I'm assuming herpes blisters resemble the blister you would get from a burn.) Any idea of what this is and a way to treat it?

So scabies wouldn't cause itching in the general groin area only?  I was looking at some pictures of scabies cases and noticed the nodules associated with scabies looked similar to the ones I have. Also the rash I have had resembles pimples or bug bites.

Hello,
Scabies presents as small red bumps and blisters and affects specific areas of the body. Scabies may involve the webs between the fingers, the wrists or other folds of body. Burrows are difficult to see and moreover masked by itching.

I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and regards.

Hello,
I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be eczema or ringworm groin. Eczema is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema. It does not look like any STD. I would suggest you to get it evaluated from a dermatologist as treatment for both is entirely different.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
