We try to be a support system, for those who don't have family/friends who can be there for them.
dramanerd... what is your goal and how soon do you plan to reach it? Typically, starting slowing and making changes that you can live with is the first step.
For instance, eliminate soda from your diet and try to eliminate processed foods that contain extra sugar, white flour and rice, etc. Make water your drink of choice.
Often, we have to make only one of these changes at a time, but that's okay. Slow and steady, so you can stay with it. Chances are, you didn't gain all the weight at once, so you won't be able to lose it all at once, either.
Make sure you get some exercise every day... if nothing else go for a walk around the block a couple of times/day. Again, if you aren't used to exercising, start slow and work up.
