ABOUT TO LOSS IT

For the past 4 months I have been in constant pain. I have been to my Dr about 5 times, an urgent care center 3 times, and emergency twice. They have taken blood & urine 3 times. They have checked my liver, kidneys, bladder, and thyroid. Also, they have checked for infections and sextualy transmited diseases, and every thing is okay. At first they thought that I had cysts, but now they think that it is endemetriosis. I have hear that the only way to confirm this is to have surgery. Also I have been told that you get pain before & during your period. Mine is constant it NEVER goes away. Some days are better than others but most of the time I am in so much pain that I can't walk & I am missing a lot of work. They now want me to wait another month & try the pill, but it's already been 4 months. Should I get a second opinion? Also my ovaries are holding fluid. ADVICE PLEASE!!

I had a grapefruit sized cyst endometrioma which caused removal of my left ovary I was exp. daily bouts with awful pain removal of the cyst helped also confirmed endo diag I now have nerve damage at the site where they removed my ovary on hip which feels like hot glue on my skin all the time but other than that my symptoms are well controlled with yaz birth control I also went to a pelvic pain center for over a year and endured awful procedures and test, the only thing they did that helped was physical thearapy and taught me todo pelvic floor exercises.
Learn your body some behaviors and foods trigger pain, exercise though painfull and weight loss has helped me tremendously

I am in the same boat as you at the moment. I came home early from work today. I have never been 100% diagnosed w/endo because my doctor didn't want to do surgery until a last option. But I have been on Lupron and I am now on progesterone birth control pills. I was in the ER earlier this month and they found a cyst on my right ovary its 6 cm, but I was having severe pain on my left side. I think maybe my cyst has caused some of it, but I think most of my pain is do to endo. I got for a follow up ultra sound oh Aug. 3rd and hopefully will know more. I hated coming home from work early, but I was to the point I couldn't stand. The debilitating pain really *****. While I don't have any advice for you, I just wanted you to know that you are not alone.

No hun u are not the only one that goes through this. Last year i had an ectopic preganacy and then when they did they lap for that they found endo.  The crazy thing is that i have never had a problem until then.  Since then i have been told so many different things by 4 different drs. It started out that I would have 2 good weeks and 2 bad weeks and no it is where i am constant pain and i would love for my dr to do another lap because all they did the last time is take a biopsy but he will not do it.  So i have no idea what to tell u to do next but know that we are all here for u and i will let u know if i get any more info that would be helpful to you i just called my dr today so we will see

Thanks! That information could come in handy if that's what I really have, because they don't know what is going on. At first they thought that I had a cyst but now they think it's endo. I think that it is possibly something else from some of my symptoms, but all I can do is wait for my test results from my pap and scraping. Also to see if the pill works. It's nice to know that I am not alone. I wish you both the best. Thanks again.

Hi ladies,

Have any of you seen a reproductive endocrinologist? Most of these guys know a lot more about endo than anyone else. To find a good one in your area contact the endometriosis association. You can find their contact information by googling endometriosis association. Once you are on their website, click on the in the news tab. They have a toll free telephone number that is listed. You need to scroll down a bit but it is there.

I have been fortunate to have an excellent endo surgeon. He is on the board of medical advisers for the association. The purpose of the association is to help women with endo and to sponsor research into the disease. The women who founded it want to help other women with endo so others do not suffer needlessly. They have published at least three books. I have the endometriosis source book and endometriosis:the complete reference for taking charge of your health.

If you want my surgeon's name, send me a message and I will give it to you. I do not live in the same geographical region of either of you, but if you can afford to travel it would be worth it.

Good Luck.

hello... BOY do I KNOW what you are talking about!!! I was having the pain for close to 6 months... and I went into my obgyn and she told me that she was going to put me on the pill and that they dont do surgery unless I was in an extreme amount of pain...I guess I wasnt in as much pain then..?? so on christmas eve I was buckeld down on the floor crying for over an hour because of the pain my hubby wanted to take me to the E.R. but who wants to go to the E.R. on Christmas eve...??? thank goodness I had some pain killers from a previous sergery...even though it didnt take the pain away all the way it just took the edge off... so the day after christmas I called my obgyn back and told her about the pain... she gave me some loratab and wanted to see me the next week... so then I in Jan I went in for surgery... my right ovary was kind of stuck in a pocket and my doctor said that I had cysts on a nerve and she burned off what she could... now its july and I did the whole lupron depot shot... it worked for 3 months and the 4th month it didnt work... so now I feel like Im back to square one... I went back to my obgyn and she told me there was nothing else she could do for me so she sent me to a endocronologist and he gave me some pills that my obgyn gave me that were suppose to be for the side effects of the lupron but he told me it was a birth contorl pill... and when my hubby went to fill the perscribtion and they asked him if he wanted them to finish the 3 refills I had left from when my obgyn had given it to me... so I called him back and told him that I was on it before and it didnt work... so then his aid called me back and said that he couldnt do anything else for me and that he thought I should go to a pain specialist... so... now Im stuck on the couch in pain until I can figure out what to do next... EGHHHH I hope something helps you soon I understand the whole not being able to walk... I know that people have suggested that I get the one things that are like heating pads and they wrap around you and then taking like ibuprofen or whatever... good luck sorry it was soooooooooooooo long
