Clomid for one day

Do anyone know the side effect of taking clomid for 1 day only? What will happen if I took 100 mg of clomid x 1day only?
I have no ovulation problems; therefore I stopped taking the clomid after I read that it may cause cysts. I was supposed to take it for 5 days. Now What?? Am I hurting myself?

The doc asked me to take clomid for 5 days x 100mg incase my body didn't ovulate this month. In general I have no ovulation problems. I googled and read that women with no ovulation problem needn't take clomid.

Note: am ttc and am 34yrs with no kids. My husband is 40 and he has kids from previous marriage (16 -20 yrs). He will make sperm chk this month because the doc said he must do it even if he has kids.

Please Help

hi there! probably nothing will happend if you just took one. Clomid is used to help you produce more eggs, meaning that the % percentage of pregnancy is higher...it can cause cysts and multiple pregnancy....usually docs start at 50mg...I don't think you are hurting yourself by only taking one, the only thing that it probably will have no effect on your Ovulation.

there are many tests that can be done and should be done before you start some sort of treatment like clomid. I am ttc also, so if you have any questions just let me know.

Good luck on your ttc journey!!

Thank you very much Keyan for your reply. It really feels good when people share their worries.

In last Feb I made some chk ups for my Hormones, everything was fine. Last month I did ultrasound, the dr. noted that the endometrium thickness is only 6.7mm, so he gave me Cycologest “Progesterone”  for 15 days, which suppose to carry it up. I will go to make another ultrasound soon. My husband will make sperm chk-up this month. He has children from previous marriage but that s 20 to 15 yrs ago.
The doc also suggests that I redo 3 hormones such as FSH and LH. In general my cycle is very accurate (every 30 days).

My doc said I have no Problems, even the endometrium thickness is not a matter. When I think about it, I feel that babies are really gift from God.

Good luck to you too :)

Keyan,

Yesterday, we got my husband’s results for sperm analysis. It doesn’t seem so good. The count is 7 million only when it supposes to be at least 20 million. Also the motility is 45%. We are waiting for the second report to see if there are any infections. I was really surprised when I read the report, because my husband already has 2 kids from previous marriage. He will see a doctor once the econd report comes out.

I don’t know what we shall do. Can we have a baby?
At this point Clomid probably will not help :'( Crying

Sweety don't give up! It will happen! consult your doctor, and he/she will help you out with many options, when there are sperm issues, IUI is a great option.

Sending you a BIG BEAR HUG!!
