Thanks soooooooooooo much for the feedback. I really appreciate all the info on prenatal vitamins. High risk OBGYN is most definitely a requirement due to my other incurable illness that I have had since I was 16yrs old diagnosed with Endometriosis which is severe pelvic pain. I know my pregnancy will be a struggle and blessing if I am able to carry full term.
I am most concern with the lack of my appetite and inability to eat like most ladies are able to do. Food is the enemy alot of times for me and I need to find a guide to better eating. Most times I am unable to fully digest fully what I eat and comes back up. I am fearful that my baby will not get any type nutrients.
Yes, due to Gastro I do have to take several vitamins in addition to several medications most vitamins are in the form of liquid or soft gels anything else is a struggle to digest. Very true that my case is NOT a text book one. Its very frustrating to find that book too Eating for Gastro. I would like to get that link for where you found the publishing release on 11/11/08....***@****
Take care
It's always difficult to research when you're not a "textbook" case, I've been there. I looked for the book on Amazon and became very excited when I found it, but it's unavailable. ****. Okay, I found another website that said the book has not yet been released by the publisher, one says expected ship date is 11/11/08, the other says 6/09. I found yet another site that allowed to add the product to the cart, and says nothing about pre-ordering/not being released. If you would like any of those links, let me know, as I cannot post links here.
I am assuming since you take several medications, not taking them for the duration of the pregnancy is not an option. Your doctor or pharmacist can tell you for sure what pregnancy category your medications are in. I do believe that Zofran is safe during pregnancy, I have a brain disorder and somedays experience horrendous nausea and this works wonders!! Proton-pump inhibitors are category C I believe, they may be harmful to the fetus. The risks to the fetus may be outweighed by the benefits to you. That's a decision only you can make. I would guess you are on nutritional supplements for the gastro? I am TTC myself and started taking a prenatal vitamin ( I have b12 and iron anemia), using that as a replacement for the individual supplements. It would probably be smart to involve your doctor before or as you are TTC, once you do get pregnant, it might take a couple of extra doctors visits, maybe a high risk OBGYN, but it'll all be worth it.
Best wishes!
