I had laparoscopy surgery done about 8 weeks ago. I actually went in to have a cyst removed, but the cyst had already ruptured, but they found endometriosis. I have hurt and hurt and I still hurt. I go tomorrow to my ob to discuss further options. At my 2 week post op, he mentioned about the Lupron shot which I do NOT want to take for various reasons. I hurt mainly on my right ovary, but when he did the lap. he said my ovaries looked fine. A hysterectomy is NOT an option for me right now because I am only 26 and do not want to go through "the change" so early. I feel stuck and scared. I feel like taking baby steps as a way to hopefully make me better. Instead of boom, having a total hysterectomy, do you think having my right ovary removed would be better? Then see how that goes? I hurt everywhere, but like I said, mainly on my right ovary. I suffer from cysts all the time also. Even at my 2 week post op, I told my ob that my right ovary was still hurting and he said it would from me recovering from surgery. Any thoughts, helpful tips, suggestions??? Thank you!!!

Hi Blessedmommy85,
I've just found/joined this website and read your post. My case seems similar to your own, only I do not appear to have as many cysts.
I went in to have my cyst removed under a fortnight ago and they found (and expected to) endometriosis. I'm yet to know the details in depth as I've only had the brief in depth post-op overview however, I do know my specialist is looking to laser the Endo. In the meantime he has fitted me with a coil which I believe is suppose to ease the pain. I have to say I think I am not having the best reaction, unless it is just me (more than likely) but this is apparently a routine procedure, thought I'd mention as you may like to read up on?
I'm almost 26 too, I am definitely not going to opt for a hysterectomy either.

Did you have an endo specialist treat you a general ob/gyn does not know enough, if not get one! Did your doctor try to remove the endo? To find an endo specialist go to the endo association:

I think that maybe you should get a second opinion from a specialist.

Why have a hysterectomy? Nobody mentioned that, did they?

I believe that your pain is caused by the laparoscopy, you are still healing. Give yourself a few days time and then go to a specialist!
