Hi, I’m a mature female student training to be an osteopath, currently in year 3 of a 4 year degree (in England). I don’t suffer from endometriosis and feel like a bit of an imposter here :-0 but I hope no-one will mind me using the forum to try to gain some insight into this distressing condition. As part of our training we learn to identify all sorts of conditions either so that we can treat the patient with manual therapy or when this is not possible, so that we can refer patients on for tests or to see the relevant specialists. With regards to endometriosis we have been asked to look into cases where osteopaths (or possibly other manual therapists such as chiropractors, physiotherapists, massage therapists, etc) have been able to help treat/relieve pain or other symptoms linked to endometriosis. I thought asking real people might be more useful than reading trawling through medical journals and text books! I would be grateful for any feedback you have regarding any non-drug based treatment you have tried – osteopathy in particular but anything else would also be of interest. Many thanks
