Just had ovarian cysts removed now I have endometriosis

On Tuesday I finally had my surgery to remove 2 endometriomas I had on my left ovary.  It started causing me pains in August of last year.   My doctor told me today that she couldn't believe all the endometriosis she saw.  I had to have my left fallopian tube, and ovary removed also.  Everything is fine on the right side.  She couldn't get to the endo on my bladder and behind the uterus.  She is putting me on birth control (Seasonique).  She gave me three months supply and said it will help because if I don't do this the endo will progress.  I am scared because I have never been on the pill and I developed endo sometime after my tubal.  I had a tubal done in March 2007.  She said everything was great looking then when I had the tubal.  I really feel that the tubal caused the endo and I regret I had that done.  My doctor did say I will have to eventually have a hysterectomy.  I told my family and they are against it and said to get a second opinion.  I will have to wait until I get insurance.  I paid out of pocket for this recent surgery and now I am going to be paying the hospital in payments along with my bank where I got my loan.  So I am practically up to my eyeballs in debt.  All my life and I am almost 36, have had regular periods.  I have noticed though after my tubal there were some months my period would last 7 days and I would bleed a lot.  So I kinda figured it may be endo.  Now that I still have it do you think the pill is going to help?  I definately don't want to develop any more cysts since I still have the right ovary.  I am ok with having a hysterectomy but I want it to happen a long time from now.  I don't want to be taking the pill for ever.  Please if anyone is going through this I would really like to hear from you.

Hi,I don't know much about birth control pills, but I wanted to say that I had my tubes tied back in April of '06 after my 3rd child and I've been having trouble with my periods ever since. Before I got pregnant with my 3rd child,I always had regular 28 day cycles. My first period after I had her,it was bad..I was bleeding alot. Then they would be every 23-25 days and I would bleed for 5-7 days. Now since last October, they're everywhere and I've been in soo much pain. They found a 3-5cm cyst on my right ovary, but then it had burst. I'm still in pain and now I have to wait until the beginning of Feb. to call my gyn to make an appointment to have a laparascopy done. He did a pelvic exam and said that my right side is tender. Somedays I just want to stay in bed,and some days I'm ok. But 5 days or so before I start my period,I get horrible cramps. I still have nausea(since Oct.). I don't know what to think of it and gyn also,we're both confused as to why I'm hurting(my tests were all normal). But I heard you can't tell by ultrasound if you have endo. My gyn did say he found scar tissue on my right side(he was more concerned about that). I hope you feel better soon and I'm sorry I'm of no help about the birth control. Best wishes to you!!

I had a 6 cm endometrioma and a 4 cm one on my left.  She removed them and the tube was full of endometriosis.  I think the tubal I had in Mar. 07 caused it I really do.  Eventually I will have to have a hysterectomy.  My doctor before the surgery didn't even want to remove my left ovary when I wanted removed whether it was good or not.  Since I a paid out of pocket I did not want to develop any more cysts on the left.  Now since I have my right she wants me to start birth control which I am terrified of taking.  I do know endometriomas are caused from endometriosis.  I wouldn't be surprised if your right ovary will be removed and your fallopian tube as well.  She did my surgery laparoscopic on Tuesday and I fell a lot better today.  I was up and walking a day after but let me tell you before my surgery my back was killing me.  The cysts were pressing up against my back 24/7.  Now that there gone my back feels worse than it did but it because of the swelling.  I know that will get better in time.  Good luck to you.  If you or anyone can offer me advise on birthcontrol I would appreciate it.  I am 36 and I am scared of taking it.  I have read a lot of negative reviews about seasonisque.  Please help.

Hello, I have a 5cm. chocolate cyst on my right ovary that their going to remove on Tues.
How big was yours?  What kind of symptoms were you having?  I am having pressure on my pelvic and rectum.  Sometimes my right hip and side hurts.  My doctor told me if he sees endo everywhere he will then talk to me about a hysterectomy.  I don't know what causes endo but I know a lot of women have it.
