Another endometrioma?

In January 2009 I had two ovarian cysts removed on my left ovary.  One was 6 cm and the other 4 cm.  My dr. removed my left tube and ovary due to extensive damage.  She said the endo was really bad.  She got out most of what she could.  It was all around my bladder and uterus.  She referred the cysts as endometriomas.  She suggested a hysterectomy which I said no.  So she put me on the pill to keep the endo at bay and since I still have my right ovary.  After three months on the pill I went off of it because the side effects were horrible.  She was going to put me on a different one but I said no.  She said I was at risk for getting another cyst. So everything has been fine three years later I develop another cyst.  This time it's a new dr. so he doesn't know about my endo.  I told him my history but what I mean is he hasn't seen it so doesn't know how bad it probably is.  I know I still have it I feel the pain.  I went to him last week but not because I was in pain but for my well woman exam.  He wanted to do an ultrasound just to be sure since given my history.  Well it turns out there is a 3 cm cyst on my right ovary.  He wants me on the pill to see if it will shrink and see my back in a month.  I said ok. I don't like the pill but I will do it.  Now I feel that I am taking this pill for nothing because if it is another endometrioma it may not go away.  Another problem I have been noticing now is rectal spasms.  I am having them constantly.  I am not having any pain or bleeding.  A nurse told me it could be from the cyst pushing on my rectum.  I don't know what to do.

I recommend that you find an endo specialist. If you are in the US I can give you the names of one in NY, Georgia, California, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Oregon. You can also contact the endo assoc to find one near you. I hope this helps.

Portia is the name of the bc.  I have heard that since endometriomas are not functional cysts that they will not go away with bc.  I had two on my left ovary and they were too big so I couldn't do bc.  So I am 99% sure what i have on my right is another endometrioma.  When I saw him last week it was 3 cm.  When I had my cysts removed in 2009 I was told I had extensive endo and was told I needed a hysterectomy.  My new dr. is not aware of how bad it probably is since he has never done a lapro on me.  I just don't know what to do.  It is day three that I have been on the pill and I don't like it.  I have been having menstual like cramps like I am fixing to start my period, but I just finished one.  And the rectal spasms are still happening but I have noticed not as bad as yesterday.  I go back Aug. 21st for another u/s.

What is the name of the pill you are on?  I was on Marvelon for 6 yrs and just switched to Visanne. I have had great success with both of them. If you are not on any of those the cyst will grow back unfortunately.
