Ovarian cyst & endonetriosis

Hello There! I was just diagnosed with endonetriosis in my left ovary and ovarian cyst on the right. Is it possible that I can still get pregnant without having surgery?

Hello,

I have both endometriosis and also a long history of ovarian cysts, and PCOS. After a year of trying to get pregnant naturally we turned to IVF, but before this I had to have a laparoscopy (key hole surgery) to check everything was fine, I did get some endometriosis burnt off and they checked my tubes to make sure everything is working.

Depending on what type of ovarian cyst you have it may just go away naturally or it will have to be surgically removed, endometriosis is usually burnt off or if your not planning on becoming pregnant you usually take the pill and limit your period to 4 times a year, which decreases the endometriosis forming.

If I was you though, I would definately have a laparoscopy and have both the cyst and endometriosis cleaned up, as well as a gynacologist to have a look inside to see if there isn't anything else, I had a cyst the size of a tennis ball on my left ovary and when they took it out they also found another cyst on my right side the size of a Jawbreaker candy but they were unable to detect this on both Ultrasound and CT Scan.

Endometriosis can lead to infertility, so if you are trying for a baby I would be very soon before you have to go through infertility treatments, I am nearly 9 weeks pregnant after 2 IVF cycles and I am only 25 because of my Endometriosis, Ovarian Cyst and PCOS history my husband and I would never fall pregnant naturally.

Goodluck and take care but I would see your Doctor about a Laparoscopy and also explore if there could be any hidden things that might effect your chances of becoming pregnant naturally, it is better to be checked before you get pregnant then it causing any complications in your pregnancy.

Take care
