Partial hysterectomy for severe endo.

Last Thursday  i had a partial hysterectomy for the severe endometriosis i got diagnosed with a few months ago. Other than the post surgery pain i feel better. But, what im noticing is that i get these bouts of depression. It hit me last night when i was sitting on the porch looking up at the stars and suddenly felt this overwhelming feeling of a loss. I feel alone in this and was just wondering if anyone else has gone thru this.

So you only had the uterus removed?

So if no ovaries were removed then what might be happening is that from them fiddling with them they might like cassie has mentioned above put them to sleep and they will eventually come back to life. Some times it takes a while.

Because you only had surgery last week I would try to relax and not fixate on pain and take that time to do nothing. We may feel better on the outside but the inside is still healing and that takes a long time.

They may have done some work lower in the pelvic area which might be why you are having tailbone pain.

Yes it is common for your ovaries to go to sleep for awhile post surgery. Are you having any hot flashes?

It's surgical menopause this is what you will be dealing with for now on. I would speak to your doctor about an hrt. Were both of your ovaries taken? If so this is what menopause is like and it's bound to stay the same unfortunately. I wish they would have talked to you more about having a hyster before it was done because there are a lot of side effects from having one surgically done it worse than regular menopause
