What to do?

May 6 I had laproscopic surgery to remove endometriosis.  This was my 7th lap in the last 10 years for endo and cysts.  While the Dr. was exploring to find the endo, she discovered a 3 cm cyst on my right ovary that she proceeded to remove.  She also found that the tissue that holds my ovary in place and supplies the blood flow to the ovary was severly swollen and discolored (black and blue with blisters all over).  She did not remove my ovary during my surgery but let me know during my follow up visit that she feels that she should have.  She told me that after consulting with her partner, she believes that the black discoloration is due to endometriosis though she is not positive that this is what the cause is.  Honestly, I saw the pictures of the "thing" and was shocked to say the least since I have a personal history of ovarian cancer.
My Dr. gave me the option to use Lupron to get rid of the suspected endo or to have the ovary and filopian tube removed from my right side.  I have a serious issue with the thought of using the Lupron and throwing myself into menopause possibly having severe side effects that would impact not only my life but the lives of everyone that I love and not knowing for sure that the "thing" is for sure endo.
I have decided to go ahead with the surgery to have the ovary, tube, and black mass removed.  I would love some feedback from anyone that has had this done as to recovery time.  I am honestly terrified to have this surgery even though I have been through multiple similiar surgeries.

I wish I would have seen this sooner!!! My doc is against the Lurpon and is using another drug that is just recently approved for endo treatment. Unless your doc is very aggressive and on track with all the new discoveries, he/she probably knows nothing about it!

It's called Letrazole - look it up and read about it. Email me if you need to. I am a miracle patient but apparently, so is EVERY other woman who uses this. ZERO side effects and I feel better than I have since my pregnancy 4+ years ago!!!!

I am wondering how your surgery went.

I am sorry that I am only seeing this now.

I hope everything went well and I do agree with you on the Lupron it is something that they should never give a prescription for .
