Afterimage

I know that I have posted questions on this site many time and I appreciate those who answer it very much. I had an eye injury 3 1/2 weeks ago and so far, no retinal detachment. But I have noticed that I get an afterimage after looking at a light for 1 second. For example, 4 days ago, I saw 3 black spots in my vision and thought that there was a problem with my retina so I went to get it checked out and they said my eyes were fine. It actually ended up being an afterimage of the siren from a firefighter, because the black spot appeared right after looking at it. I experimented this at home by looking at light, and sure enough I saw brownish spots in my vision. The spot would go away after about 1 to 2 minutes. Do you know what it causing me to easily see afterimage from looking at a light? I am pretty positive that I didn't injure my head when I got my eye injured. Thanks!

Any other problems? These alone aren't enough to even have an eye MD give you a second of their time.
