Blacked out

It hasn't happened since high school (2 years ago), but sometimes my vision used to get blurry and look like it was fading white and black.... I usually blinked or shook my head and it stopped, but one day in woodshop, we were learning safety of the sawmill in the saw mill garage and I was tired from lack of sleep, nervous from being around so many strangers (I knew nobody in the class) and I was hungry, and the vision thing was happening again. So I decided to let it go and see what happened, maybe it will get my mind off of the nervousness.... It did, and then I let my vision go completely black and I blacked out, but I remember hitting a log on my way down with my head, just not the pain. I blacked out for maybe for 5 or 10 minutes? not sure, forgot to ask.

I got to go home early, but I felt completely fine, no concussion, no repercussions, I felt great, better than I did earlier that morning.

My vision hasn't scrambled like that again since.

NOTE: the scrambling vision has been happening to me since I was younger than 4, at least from my memory, I always blinked or shook it off until this incident.

You can look each one up on e-medicine. I don't have time to explain each at length  DX = diagnosis

Since you've had the problem or 16 years it isn't something that is progressively more serious. It is something that you should tell your personal physician and also see an Eye MD ophthalmologist for an exam.

The two most likely DX:
1. Childhood ophthalmic migraine (often does not have headache)
2. Atypical seizure
3. Orthostatic hypotension
