Blue lights in eyesight

Back in November 2009 I got very sick, I think it was a flu. It didn't last long, but while I was sick I started seeing blue lights that flashed when I blinked or moved my eyes in my eyesight, this would be while my eyes were open and closed. As I got better the lights dimmed, but were still present, eventually looking like blue balls of flame when I closed my eyes.

Now I can still see them, mostly with my eyes closed, though sometimes even when my eyes are open. I have been to an Optometrist and an Eye doctor, both have not been able to find anything wrong with my eyes at all. I am scheduled for an MRI however the eye doctor believes this may not be necessary.

I have done a little research on the internet and found that some eye issues can be caused by vitamin deficiency, I have started taking a multi-vitamin, however there has been no change.

Does anyone know what might be causing this or has anyone ever heard of it before?

I see lights amd squiggly lines and all sorts of things. My optomitrist said they are ocular migrains. No pain or anything just weird lights behind the eye caused from an ocular migrain. Hope this helps. You ca at least mention it to your optomitrist.
