Gritty feeling in eye after Retinal Detachment Surgery

I had Retinal Detachment Surgery 3 weeks ago and as of the last couple of days my eye feels gritty in the outer corner, like I got something in it.  It also now looks bloodshot in the corner which is new because my eye was just starting to look normal again.  Is it possible I have an eye infection? Its sore everytime I blink and I had previously not had any pain.  I am very aware of it.  Any advice appreciated.

thanks
Lesley

I am new here.  When your eye is lasered for a tear in your retina, and 3 weeks later you seem to have a 'spray' of hundreds and hundreds of little dots in your eye that go away overnight...then the next week your eye gets hot and fills totally up with blood.

One of the docs in the practice wanted to drain the blood out right away, and fill it with saline, the other doc said it would clear up on its own, because he did a sonogram and said my retina was attached.

It did clear up on its own in 3 weeks.

They never said what caused the spray or the fill up.

Could it be the laser?  Should I be worried about that?
