Holes in Retina

Hi All,

I am a 25 years old male. For the last few months I am seeing floaters around my both the eye, and I went for eye checkup. Doctor told me there that I have multiple holes in retina in both the eyes and it can lead to "Retinal Detachment". Doctor suggested me that I can take the Laser Treatment but that does not guarantee that "Retinal Detachment" won't happen. And she suggested me that I can take it or not-- as I wish. I need help from you to take the decision- whether to take the Laser Treatment or not. Will it improve anything or not? Will I be having the chances of retinal detachment even if I take the Laser treatment? How worst my situation is?

Sir, i went for lasik. But my doctor found laatice holes on the periphery of rettina in both eyes. Suggested for barrage laser before doing lasik. Now i dropped the idea of making lasik too. So pls suggest me whether to go for barrage laser or it can cure by medications.? Pls replyy its urgent

We do not respond by e mail. Small round holes in lattice especially like yours on the bottom of the eye often do not require any treatment. If you picked a reptuable eye MD then there is no reason to suspect they need treatment if nothing changes.

Last few months i am very discomfort with my eyes and suddenly  I am seeing floaters around my both eyes last weeks i went retinal specialist and he told me that i have retinal lattice with a small hole in my right eyes but all lattice are safe and hole is in 7 O' clock position also advised me for laser treatment and floaters are in vitrious not for retinal hole. Now i want to know is laser treatment necessary now or will it healing as usually. Sir please respond and send your kind response to my mail

It is very controversial when and what holes to treat.  Your best bet would be to see a retinal surgery for a second opinion. Get a second opinion from a different retina surgeon that you pick out.

It is true that with or without treatment there is not a 100% guarentee to prevent RD. Nothing in medicine is 100%
