Vitreous degeneration

I am a 30year old female. went in for my annual dilated eye exam due to nearsightedness (-5.75 and -7). Have been having floaters. eye doc says i have "vitreous degeneration" but eyes appear healthy overall and i had some "garden variety floaters"...."nothing to write home about". At age 30, what does this vitreous degeneration mean for me?

I have read those but am I not a little young to be undergoing this? And if liquefication begins now, am I guaranteed eye problems if I live to be say 80? Since most PVD does not occur until after 50?

Use the search feature and archives to read about Posterior Vitreous Degeneration also called PVD. It has detailed explanation of this normal aging change in the eye.
