Can the process of dilation and peripheral retina exam itself cause more syneresis? What are the chances of me getting use to the new and more rapid movement patterns. I was doing just fine until last week. Vitrectomy is out for me because my retinas are very thin and stretched.
FIrst I have a Weiss Ring in my right eye and although I am unaware of it most times as soon as I talk or write about it the Weiss ring appears and is very distracting.
Likely as you have grown older more of your formed vitreous gel has liquified (syneresis) and there is a bigger pool of liquid vitreous for the Weiss rings to slosh around in. This is especially true if the dilated peripheral retina exam was normal.
Recently I posted a study that showed that removing floaters because they were annoying is potentially very dangerous and rarely called for.
