Is visual snow a medicalname or name given by people ?

hmmm... even i got scared reading internet stuff.
i had gone to eye- doctor with dots on dark surface like static as they say.
My doctor was really good; he examined and concluded they are vitreous fluid cells; but internet forum scared d hell out of me - phew :-/ people create hill out of mole....

Although there is a lot on the internet and these eye forums about it I have never had a patient come into my office and complain of it in over 3 decades.
