Zymar eye drops __ Prolonged use?

To continue or not to continue ?   I've been using Zymar for 12 days and the eye infection (mucus film and pink eye) is not completely gone.  I was supposed to be completely recovered in 5 days.  After 12 days, my eye is about 95% healed. Since " . . . prolonged use may result in overgrowth of nonsusceptible organisms, including fungi.", I would like to know if I should continue for a few more days or stop now.   I am concerned that stopping antibiotics before complete recovery is risky, as the creation of "super-bugs" can be difficult to treat.   Please advise.

Thank you for your quick reply.  I plan to call and/or visit my doctor Monday.  Meanwhile, I am developing a stye in the other eye.  Using hot compress a few times today has been very soothing.  Sometimes, I put the hot towel over both eyes.  The heat seemed to help my infected eye also.

I forgot to mentioned that I had a stye 2 months ago (in the eye which is recovering from the mucus and pink eye).  I thought that it went away completely, without medication.  Apparently, it didn't, since I got  a subsequent eye infection.

At this time, I decided to stop using Zymar, since my infected eye is 99% fine.  I will just use the hot towel/compress over both eyes.  Hope the stye will go away tomorrow and my "infected" eye will be 100% well ;-)

Thanks again for your help,
      Lucy
