i am paranoid about sight loss due to my severe myopia

It will be a long message but I need to describe my story and worries in a complex manner in hope to receive a detailed answer..Hope that somebody will finally do it.

I am 25 y.o. and have gained myopia of -15 throughout the years. The axial lenght of my eye is sth about 28 mms.I am not sure if its over since I gained two more diopters throughout the last year.I had scleroplasty as a 13-year old but providing I had -9 then,it did not help.I also have dry eye so i cant wear CL which is a great problem since I am a naturally active person;/ The doc says I have typical myopic degeneration of retina due to axial growth.
Last year when I consulted my retina the doctor said it needs "laser" and he lasered it to prevent retinal detachment. So I suppose my retina is not in perfect shape if it needed laser.I have all the diagnostic exams performed regularly but still I cant stop being paranoid about losing my sight, even partially.

I worry all the time about retinal detachment.Even if they manage to attach the retina back with surgery,I hear that the vision acuity is lost...I worry that if I go for a trip and RD happens I will not be able to get the surgery shortly afterwards and it will not be restored. So my first question is:

1, how long after  RD is it still possible  restore it?

Then,I worry constanlty about doing  things that may contribute to RD..I often feel the pain in the eyes when doind bending down during yoga classes or during jogging.I used to take much pleasure in sport but I cant stop worrying about this pain in my eyes.Nobody of the people I asked experiences it.Why do I feel this pain?If these are eye's muscles why do they hurt?So id like to ask

2.is bending down dangerous?should I quit yoga or jogging if i feel this strange pain in my eyes?:(

And then there comes weightlifting.I travel sometimes with a heavy bag (20kgs) it is on wheels but sometimes i have to carry it up to the train or sth.

3.So is weighting heavy bags occasionally and for short times dangerous? Is it only dangerous when lifted with hands or would a heavy backpack on my back be a danger too?Can I go backpacking with a 15 kgs backpack?

The pain in my eyes stops when I change position from bending down to normal and when I stop lifting. So I became thinking that it has to do sth with those activities and is dangerous.

4.What is the chance of retinat detachment with people of myopia as severe as mine?I have to say my parents have -7 and -10 but they are not active and never really performed sports and they havent had RD *the are 53 y.o.).I hear stories of RDs in people with my level of myopia and that they lost most of their vision because of this.

5.I want to do ICL sometime since I cant wear CL and my vision with glasses is very diminished and not that sharp...Will it make the risk of RD significantly greater?Should I chose IOL over ICL?

thank you in advance.I need to ask here because doctors dont really know what to advise.Patients with such extreme  myopia are rare and if they are, they dont ask questions probably;-) Lately I had a great problem because of dry eye and nobody could help me ..Still i am helping myself with eyedrops because i cant find any other solution.

Only your Eye MD can advise you.  As a generalization with that degree of myopia I suggest my patients avoid all contact sports (football, basketball, etc.)   racquet sports are okay but my wear ultra strong athletic safety goggles or protection. Things like golf and bowling are fine. I tell them to avoid roller coasters and amusement park rides, jogging and running are fine (studies have shown does not increase risk of RD even after RD surgery).   Yoga I allow but no standing on head.   High repitition weight lifting is find but power lifting or trying to set weight records is not. As for lifting anything where you have to strain hard, worry about hurting your back and makes your face turn red should be avoided.

I really hoped to get answer about the sport activities allowed because doctors are divided here..:( some are radical anti-sport and some allow everything other than very heavy weightlifting.

1. Use the search feature and archives and read the many informative posts about progressive pathologic myopia.
2. IOL will increase risk over ICL however ICL is not without risk including cataract formation and corneal damage. I would get 2-3 opinions before doing any and only with clearance from your retina Eye MD
3. As for your activities discuss with your retina MD.
4. No one can quantitate your risk of an RD. Best estimate would be from your retina eye MD. Ball park might be between one in a hundred and one in a thousand.  Perhaps 10-12% if you have cataract surgery.
5. Use the search feature and archives and read about retinal detachments. If the macula is not detached it is often possible to completely restore vision.
6. Take this the right way but you should be seeing a psychiatrist to help you deal with your anxiety, fears-phobias and depression.
