I have been TTC for three years and struggle with recurrent miscarriage. I am 23 years old, short, and thin (just about 100 lbs.). I have had tons and tons of bloodwork. All comes back normal except I have low estrogen (Day 3= less than 20) and low progesterone (Day 22= 8.4) issues. I have a borderline high FSH level (8.9). I do have pretty bad acne, though it is significantly worse toward the end of the month. My husband has had everything checked and everything has come back great. I characteristically have had no issues getting pregnant. We have had 5 miscarriages; none were checked for chromosomal errors. They were:
1. 6 weeks, miscarried naturally
2. 12 weeks, blighted ovum, D&C
3. 5 weeks, chemical miscarriage, miscarried naturally
4. 5 weeks, chemical miscarriage, miscarried naturally
5. (after first try at Femara) 7 weeks, heartbeat detected, normal morphology, had to take Misoprostol to induce miscarriage.
My doctor gave me the choice this next time of whether I wanted to use progesterone cream as a supplement, but he said in his opinion I did not need it. I used it along with Femara, did not conceive, and felt horrible the entire second half of the month. I was exhausted, my breasts stung, and I was in a horrible mood. Previous to using progesterone cream I have never had a PMS symptom in my life. This month I decided not to use the progesterone cream but continued the Femara. I felt sure that I would get a positive test because I felt even worse than last month, but sure enough I got a negative pregnancy test and my period came. So, whereas I used to have no trouble getting pregnant and no PMS symptoms at all, all of the sudden it seems I cannot get pregnant and have developed severe PMS. I know I have been ovulating due to ultrasounds. Any ideas?
