Cholecystits

Hi. I am a 26 year old female. About a month ago, I had acute alithiasic cholecystitis. It was diagnosed in time and had an appropriate treatment for ten days. I followed a fat free diet for 14 days and my doctor told me I was good enough to eat as usual. I ate a little bit of fat that weekend, but not even half of what I am used to (which is not that much). On monday, I drank a sip of green tea and an hour later I had a terrible headache, a huge belly and dizziness. I called my doctor and he recommended to keep away from fatty food a week more, which ended last friday. On saturday I went to a restaurant and had a non-fatty fish for dinner, but as everyone else on the table kept eating, I asked for a scallops tartare too. I was drinking red wine (because according to my doctor I could drink that) and the scallops were served with white wine. The thing is, I cannot remember anything after dinner until I was at my home again, vomiting the scallops (about two or three hours after I ate them). I felt terrible yesterday, with chills, nausea, headache, stomachache and without apetite (with gross memories of the scallops) and today I do not feel that much better (chills, no apetite, nausea and headache). What happened to me? was it the scallops? the wine? both?

It can be hard to give up foods that you really like.  However, if it helps you, then it is always worth it.  I miss food a lot (I've been 100% tube fed for a year now) so I know that it is very hard to eliminate foods from your diet.

Thank you. I will schedule an appointment this week. I love wine though, I am really worried about what happened.

Welcome to the gastroenterology community!  This could be a chronic problem and I would recommend seeing a gastroenterologist about this to be evaluated.
