Chronic nausea in 9yo

I am seeking help for my 9-year-old daughter.  For the past 20 months, she has had almost daily nausea, with increasing fatigue.  She has also gained almost 40 pounds in that time, despite the nausea.  She had a gastric emptying test that came back as somewhat slow.  She has been taking Reglan for this for about 4 months now.  The Reglan helps with the symptoms, but does not erradicate them.  It does magnify the fatigue, as well.  Because of this and the risks associated with Reglan, I worry about her taking it.  We have recently halved the dosage, to try and keep the nausea in check while decreasing the fatigue.  The pediatric gastroenterologist she is seeing has now ordered a HIDA scan as well.
The really odd thing about this is that she endured about six months of the same symptoms when she was 5.  Many tests were run, and no answers were found.  When she came down with strep throat and was treated with antibiotics, the symptoms greatly improved.  When the strep returned the following month, and she was treated again with antibiotics, the symptoms disappeared for nearly two years.
She has had many blood and urine tests for every kind of bacteria (including h. pylori) and parasite, but all came back negative.  She has also had normal results from x-rays, endoscopy, and ultrasound.
I worry about possibly having her gallbladder out, only to find it does not relieve symptoms.
Any suggestions???

Then try pulling her off of wheat, rye, barley and malt for a few weeks. Celiac is a great 'mimic' of other GI issues and sometimes in kids the only major symptom is nausea or sometimes unresolved abdominal pain - but no changes in bowel habits. It's worth a try.

You might also want to try adding some probiotics to her diet.

There is one cousin with food allergies, but no food intolerance or celiac in the rest of the family.  We tried eliminating dairy for a few weeks, but it seemed to make no difference.

Is there a history of food intolerance or celiac disease in the family?
