HI, hope this is the correct place for this. I'd like some advise as to the severity of what my problem may be and if should just go to the emergency room next time or if keeping my appointment with the gastroenterology doctor in 2 weeks is okay.
In the last month, I have been experiencing the feeling of gas trapped in my diaphragm/sternum. I do not have any pain in my stomach or abdomen. Burping seems to relieve it, but recently, it has become worse and sometimes I am unable to "burp it out" and the pressure remains there. It is never sharply painful, but ranges from slightly uncomfortable to extremely uncomfortable. It is bad when I am sitting and worse when trying to lay down. It seems better when I stand or stretch. When it started, it only lasted for an hour or so, but recently much longer, and I have had this feeling constantly for 3 days now. I also noticed that during my bowel movements lately, the stool is very loose, not quite diarrhea, but soft and loose.
The worse part of this gas seems to be that it has been causing my heart to skip a beat. It seems at worse, every 3rd or 4th beat. When I had gone to my Primary Care physician, he took an EKG and I had a bit of an attack which caused my EKG to be erratic. He immediately wanted me to see my cardiologist. When I saw him the next day, I felt fine and the EKG was normal. But last night, after 2 days of this feeling, I had taken a Librax that my doctor had given me. But later that night, feeling not well at all, I noticed my hands feeling very cold. I took my blood pressure and git 107/57, 35 beats per second. This is extremely low for me. Later after the pressure seemed to subside, my numbers went up.
I am a 43 year old male with have high blood pressure, hypertension, and a slightly enlarged heart. After my last cardiologist appointment last month, he said I was doing fine.
I feel like this may be only a Gastro problem, 8 years ago I had gastritis very badly, and fear this may be a new flare up. But there is no pain like the last time, just the gas, which is causing my heart to act unusual, which is what scares me the most.
Any advise would be appreciated.
Thank you, Chaw
