Eosinophilic Esophagitis

I am 27 year old male, been healthy all my life and never had any issues with heart burn or acid reflux to my knowledge. I was traveling through asia this past summer, and started having some strange pains in my lower right side of my abdomen, the pain sort of moved and changed over the past few months. I had some strange noises that took over my entire stomach as well. I had my blood and urine tested but doctors did not want a stool sample as I was not experiencing diarrhea, however I did have 5 days of some pretty bad diarrhea prior to my doctor visit.

I did have a colonoscopy and endoscopy, they found nothing with colonoscopy but the EGD came back with EE. I do have what seems like a sore throat quite often, and a sour taste in my mouth, so im sure i do have a bit of acid reflux, however I read that Eosinophils raise with parasitic infection, I wonder if I have a worm or some sort of parasites, that would explain the pain, and strange bowel movements, and my up and down appetite.

Does this seem like a valid concern? Or would they have been able to see that on the colonoscopy? Should I get a second opinion and insist on a stool sample and possibly ct scan(just to cover my bases)? My symptoms as far as abdominal pain is mostly going away, but it has gone away and come back before, and i do still feel it slightly from time to time. the noises are much more calm these days, but my appetite is sometimes nothing at all and other times i could eat all day. I have been dealing with this since August, I really do need help, and in recent days the acid reflux has gotten worse, i havent been able to get this sour taste out of my mouth for about 5 days now, and i take omeprozol every day. The worst part of all of this is my worry, I cannot seem to help myself but drive myself out of my mind with worry about what is wrong with me, i really do need your help, your advice, your suggestions. Thank you very much.

thanks for the link I had found that last week and it was very helpful. However I do not really experience any symptoms of EE, I would not even know I have it if it wasnt for them telling me I have it. My main concern is the abdominal pain, since i have had extensive travel through asia parasitic infection is a real possibility and I did read that eosinophils can increase due to parasitic infection, therefore I was thinking maybe there is a connection... I could be completely wrong though. Just wondering if anyone could shed any insight on this.

Also I have tried finding parasitoligists in utah and there are none that i can find... does anyone know of any good websites or web forums, anyone i could talk to online about my symptoms, etc?

thanks

EE is an allergic inflammatory disease the can be helped via eliminating the offending substances from you diet and possibly with some medication, but diet would appear to be the primary route of control. You may want to check out the following link: http://www.apfed.org/ee.htm

This problems used to be found primarily in children, but is now being seen in adults as well.
