Go to a naturalpathic doctor!! I had my gallbladder out at 19years old and im now 25 so 6 years ago and I have struggled with bowel problems, digestive problems and intestinal pain since. The only thing that has helpped me (and i feel like i've tried it all) is changing my diet to include as much ORGANIC foods as possible (its easier to digest because they are not full of preservatives and all the other junk thats in normal food) as well as taking digestive enzymes! There are many kinds out there and everyones body is different so you may have to try a few to find what works for you (I had to try 12 different kinds before i found the ones i swear by) But with the diet change and enzymes my symptoms are not gone but much more managable and some days im symptom free!!! I never knew it was possible but it is!!! Good luck!!!
P.S. you have to take the enzymes EVER time you eat even if you are just snacking TAKE THEM!!!
It sounds like you are very frustrated, as well you should be.
I don;t doubt that your skin is very dry. Fluctuating elimination problems can cause poor nutritional absorption. If you are not absorbing vitamins and minerals that your body needs then your skin will reflect this. No matter what the cause of the dry skin try using a generic cetaphil lotion or cream.
You sound like you are in a vicious circle of feeling like **** so I can't do anything else!
I agree with fuzzz, your symptoms could be hypothyroid.
I would make an appt with someone and tell him this is what the problem is and what can we do? Make a list of the problems, what you have tried, what works, what makes it better. Write it down take it with, if you have to, have the DR read it while you are sitting there. Also, it is beneficial if you have a support person accompany you.
Good luck.
I got my gallbladder removed 19 years ago. I have suffered with constipation and severe diarrhea ever since. Of course I have never taken anything medicine wise. I just started eating a higher fiber diet and staying away from high fatty foods. It has helped a little. My skin is very dry as well, my physican just tells me to drink more water. i am usually dehydrated on top of all of this.
As with all Laxatives they are harmful and your body will get used to them and depend on them. Then your muscles won't work on their own. And then they just quit. My dry skin is a condition from them. It is a drying of the intestinal linning. You have to break down all your meds and see whats in them. As for the FDA they only test these drugs for a short time and then give them to the public. We do not know the long term damage they do.
Mira Lax is bad and they say it makes it slide right threw. Read that is all I can say. It is best to take medimucil and watch what you eat.

Just one of the reports on this
I disagree. MiraLax works great for me. I had my gallbladder taken out 2 weeks ago. I have no appetite and I'm struggling to put my weight back on.
"Any laxative is bad for you" is not accurate if you are including bulk laxatives and MiraLax. I didn't find bulk laxatives helpful, but MiraLax is different and works even for me. It certainly hasn't been found to increase incidence of heart attack and stroke like Zelnorm seems to have been (the reason for the recall).

Your skin symptoms sort of sound like a thyroid problem. Have they checked that?
