PLEASE HELP -- Abdominal pain geting worse tonight!!

Hello.  I am a 36 year old woman who started experiencing some severe abdominal pain in the middle of the night last night.  I had diarrhea about 1 hour before the first episode and several times since.  I am mildly nauseated.  The pain starts across my abdomen (just below the breast bone) and feels like a squeezing and tightening that goes up to my chest.  Sometimes i feel pain in my back - but i am not sure if that is me tightening up in response to the pain.  I have tried Peto Bismol X2; Pepcid X2, my husband just ran to the drug store to get Mylanta and Zantac (took both) and i am not getting any relief.  The pain goes away for a brief time after eating.  Any ideas?  Please help!!

Any acute pain that does not resolve in 24hrs. should be checked-urgent visit or ER.
It could be simple food poisoning/stomach flu or it could be appendicitis, ovarian cyst, gall bladder/pancreatic problems, etc.  if your pain is severe and persistant you should get it checked.  Better safe than sorry.  Abd pain is nothing to overlook.

This sounds a bit like gallbladder issues. Do you have problems with fatty/greasy foods?
