Simple Stomach Bug?

I'm normally a really healthy 49 yr old. Exercise regularly, eat loads of good whole foods and I don't smoke. On March 15th I came down with a really nasty stomach bug with diarrhea, nausea and general stomach discomfort.  I thought I was over it after a few days with a simple diet of rice, bananas, toast etc.  But since then have set it off three more times but eating something perhaps too rich.  Now being really, really careful - eating just steamed rice, cooked veggies just a little chicken, but I still don't feel right. Nausea comes and goes, general stomach discomfort but not pain - should I get checked out for some underlying issue (H.Pylori infection?? not sure) - or do I just need even more time to heal this sore stomach?

Thanks so much for your response.

Thanks for the clarification. I did try some ginger tea and feel a little better today. Still not right but perhaps getting there. How long on such a strict diet do you suggest??

Not sure what you mean by congestion - do you mean taking thyme or eucalpytus to ease inflammation in the digestive tract?  Will definitely try ginger tea!

Thanks

I think you should waite it out alittle longer. look into some natural immune boosters that are light on the stomach.Thyme- eases congestion (1 oz in 1 C water)
Eucalyptus- eases congestion (1 oz in 1 C water)
Yarrow- ease the symptoms of colds and flu, and aids digestion and circulation.
Ginger tea- settles the stomach and deactivates inflammatory hormones.
good herbal teas.
