Stomach Pain / mild buring sensation / Gasitrics

Please advice. Recently i got ckihungunya and subsequent joint pain. My doctor prescribed me Arcoxia 90Mg / Day (NSAID). I took it for almost 3 weeks and pain has come down.

Now i developed,Gasitrics problem, as from yesterday night i have stomach pain (just below rib area). Now doctor prescribed me ZANTAC to treat gastrics and adviced to stop NSAID completely and bare the pain.

Now please advice the below

2) How long it will take to cure
3) What do and dont i need to follow during this gasitrics period
4) even after taking zantac mild stomach buring is there, how to cure it.

Thanks

Hi your gastric symptoms should subside and the gastritis will heal. In addition to medications to reduce acid levels try good lifestyle measures. Take frequent small meals. Avoid spicy and oily food. Eat dinner about two hours before sleeping. Elevate the head end of the bed. Keep a food diary and note down what aggravates your symptoms and avoid them. Ensure to maintain optimum weight by regular exercise. Avoid NSAIDs, quit smoking, eliminate alcohol, avoid caffeinated beverages and reduce stress levels. This will help with healing gastritis.  Regards.

dear someguy

Thanks for the reply.

For my joint pain, i am taking ayurrvedic medicine. So its improving.

in my stomach all are normal including bowel movements. Now im diagnosed with gastritis for last 3 weeks. initially i took antacid for 5 days, then no issues after that,i was on strict diet for last 3 weeks. Yesterday i took some spicy food from hotel, again stomach irritation started and even after one day mild irritation is there

I think my gastritis is not fully healed. If any home remedy please advice.

Whether my gastritis can be fully healed?? if im on strict diet for few months

As far as recovery, it may take weeks, sometimes months just depending on case by case basis.

I was diagnosed in late September and I am doing relatively well now, although I am on a STRICT diet.

Interesting, I had symptoms of Gout / joint issues before my mild Gastritis hit me.  I was also diagnosed with GERD.

I found my joint issues went away a few weeks later.  I was tested for Gout, RA and everything came back negative.

I don't know if your Doctor performed an endoscopy or not.

How are the drugs working out for you? I hated them and got off in favor of natural means.

By the way, how are your bowel movements? Are they still normal?

Like others said, stay away from fatty/spicy foods. If you smoke, give that up for good.  Stay away from alcohol/coffee for now.

I hope that Gastritis is all you have and that you get well soon.

You may want to check the "Dropping Acid" book, it's more for Acid Reflux, but may help you out as well.

If you want natural remedies, let me know I will throw some.

Dear experts

How long i need to avoid the oily and spicy foods.

Because now after 3 weeks i took little spicy food, but again my stomach started burning sensation.

If i dont take spicy foods, how long it will take to completly cure the gastritis
