Is my post colonoscopy pain normal

Hi,
I had a colonoscopy several hours ago. I woke up with sharp
pain in my left upper quadrant, beneath my ribs which would radiate to my left upper shoulder and neck on inspiration. The pain is getting worse now and i am unable to lie on my back or left side because the pain becomes severe. I was told the doctor used C02 rather than air. If this is the C02, how do I get rid of it?

I had sever pain after my colonoscopy also, it lasted a day or two.  I didn't have CO2 just air.  But there's a discharge number on your paper work if you feel something is wrong feel free to call.  I just wanted to check and see how you were feeling if things were getting better. Tea black no sugar seemed to help for me, plus a heating pad. I hope you start to feeling better.
