erosive gastritis-esophagitis

hi everyone, i believe this is a very helpful site.

i suffer from erosive gastritis and esophagitis was diagnosed by gi siries last month or so.
i have been taking a ppi (prescribed by gi doc) for 1 month now.

i am doing quite well except i have a couple of questions if anyone can help.

my symptoms were : mild nausea mostly morning but had woken me up once or twice, throat pain, altered voice like pharyngitis, abdominal bloating, burping and 1 time i noticed extra saliva.

the ppi (pantoprazole ) is helpful but occasionally i have some symptoms especially
extra foamy saliva(1 time ) or pharyngitis.  does this mean the med is not working ? or is it
just that it takes time ?

(a tablespoon of gaviscon cleared up my saliva problem ).

2)i try to be very good with my diet .have completely eliminated acidic foods, coffee
carbonated drinks, anything i found out on the net .so i am curious and rather
upset as to why i still occasionally suffer from a couple of symptoms.

i asked about the h pylori test but refused to give me one saying
i don't have it. i may go to another one.

i was always good with my diet since i exercise my only vice was carbonated
drinks and a couple of decaf coffees.

Though erosive gastritis-esophagitis can have various causes, it appears that your physician only treated the symptoms. Have your physician run a H. pylori test!
