I assume there's no way they can do photoablation or other techniques?
From what I understand of this operation, you don't lose the taste for foods nor the enjoyment of eating, but the process of the movement of food after swallowing is affected. Depending on what part of your body they use for the replacement, the rhythm of that replacement part will determine how quickly food moves from the mouth to the stomach. In many cases that movement can be much slower than that of the regular esophagus, so you may have to learn to slow down your eating patterns.
I don't have any advice I could give you on the removal of your esophagus but was wandering how you found out you had cancer cells and what problems you were having for them to test you for that?
