I just had mine out last week and I was in agony with gas until a nurse said to tell my hubby to go buy me some gas pills.  i got mylanta.  This helped me pass gas and then have a bowel movement the next day.  I also cut down on my pain meds.  My surgeon told me that I could take ANY over the counter med when I was discharged and said the mylanta is fine .  I had the laporscopic surgery.  Also try to cut down on the pain pills so you will pass stool sooner.

This is a question for your doc. If you're taking any pain meds, they may be slowing your system down a bit, or may have done that while you were on them and you may be feeling the effects of that.
