what are the best over the counter drugs for Acid reflux? Also what is the best way to treat it?

Welcome to the gastroenterology community!  Do not take double the over the counter dose (perscription dose) of any of these medications without first consulting your doctor.  I have found that OTC Prevacid or Prilosec work well.

what works for one person may not work for another, in my case what works for me 1 week my not work the next, my body gets used to the product- so my Dr. tells me.  OTC products can be doubled if the strenght on the box does not work---Try Pepsid AC they have a 10 & 20 mg....(the perscription for that is Axid 300mg)....I have been on them all, but not the ones with Sodium Bicarbonate like Zegerid OTc....I have been looking to find others who are now not responding to meds and what they are doing, I have found that Milk Thistle could possibly be of some help, I'll give it a try...I've got nothing to lose at this point
